Refund Policy

Refund eligibility, trial cancellation, and how to request a refund.

1. Overview

BrainStack Studio offers paid monthly subscriptions billed through Stripe. This policy explains when refunds are available and how to request one.

These refund terms are part of, and should be read alongside, the BrainStack Studio Terms of Use.

2. Trial Cancellation

New subscribers start on a 14-day trial. You can cancel before the trial ends through the customer billing portal in Settings; no charge will be made.

If you cancel mid-trial, you keep access through the end of the trial window unless you request immediate cancellation.

3. First-Cycle Refund Window

Within seven (7) calendar days of your first paid charge after the trial ends, you can request a full refund of that first cycle if the platform is not a fit. Email the request to the support address below from the billing email on file and include your subscription ID.

Refunds beyond the seven-day window are at our discretion and typically require evidence of a service-side issue that materially blocked use.

4. Subscription Cancellation

You can cancel a paid subscription at any time through the customer billing portal in Settings or by contacting support.

Cancellation stops future renewals; access continues through the end of the current billing period. Partial-month refunds are not issued unless required by applicable law.

5. Service Failures and Outages

If BrainStack Studio experiences a sustained outage that materially blocks your use of the platform, contact support with the incident time window. We will issue prorated credit or refund at our discretion based on the impact and duration.

Provider-side AI failures (rate limits, model outages) are handled by the deterministic-fallback path documented in /docs and do not by themselves entitle you to a refund.

6. Non-Refundable Items

Add-on charges already consumed (such as one-time tool runs that completed and returned output) are not refundable.

Annual or pre-paid plans, if offered, are governed by the order form for that plan.

7. How to Request a Refund

Email support@brainstackstudio.com (shared monitored support mailbox) from the billing email on file with the subject line "Refund request — <your subscription ID>".

Include the date of the charge, the subscription tier, and a brief reason. We acknowledge requests within two business days and resolve within ten business days when straightforward.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The effective date above will be updated when we do.

Material changes will be communicated to active paid subscribers via the billing email on file.
